Secret Plan To Seize Over A Hundred Gypsy Children in UK

The Article below by Gratton Puxton reveals a shocking and sinister plan..who could ever imagine this mind-think could be possible in a modern day Britain.
These tactics have been used in the past, Gratton was himself involved in an eviction in the 1960's when children were removed, he, himself lost his trailer..in effect ..he lost his home.

Secret plan to seize over a hundred Gypsy children

A whistle-blower has revealed the existence of secret plans to seize more than a hundred Gypsy children from the besieged Dale Farm Travellers' community and take them into temporary care.

If a judge gives the go-ahead, the children will be taken by force from their parents as part of the biggest anti-Gypsy operation ever mounted in Britain.

Basildon District Council has set aside five million euro to bulldoze Dale Farm and drive over a thousand so-called illegal Gypsies and Travellers from the area. It has already demolished a dozen Gypsy properties at nearby Hovefields.

According to details obtained by Ustiben, Essex County Council welfare officers would enter Dale Farm village in a fleet of coaches and mini-buses, accompanied by bailiffs and police, some in riot gear.

The media will be told the removal of infants and youngsters, among them some seventy primary-school children, along with the elderly and vulnerable, is for their own safety. They will be detained at a holding centre some miles from Dale Farm.

Officials anticipate that within hours frantic parents will call to demand their children back. According to instructions, they are to be released providing families agree immediately to leave the county under polic escort.

Heavy vehicles, including JCBs, earth-movers and lowloaders will be employed for at least a week raising the village. Its five tarmacked streets, lined by fenced and walled yards, comprise 132 chalets, mobile-homes and caravans, as well as the new Saint Christopher' s community centre and chapel.

Saint Christopher' s is named after a school built by Travellers in Ireland 45 years ago and burned down by Dublin Corporation. It's the headquarters of the Dale Farm Chaveys Youth Club, formed this summer with the help of the Essex Racial Equality Council.

The Gypsy Council is meeting in the centre on Tuesday (9 Sept) to discuss the threat. It has asked for and obtained a confrontation with top Essex officials at County Hall, Chelmsford, which is expected to take place later in the week.

Gypsy Council president Richard Sheridan, chair of the Dale Farm Housing Association, views the county council plan as an abuse of welfare legislation.

"This is county council collusion with Basildon's policy of ethnic-cleansing, " commented Sheridan, who is attending the Roma Summit in Brussels later this month. "They want to crush our homes and take away our children."

Gypsy Council secretary Joseph G.Jones, recently appointed a technical expert to the UN Advisory Committee on Forced Evictions, has submitted a report on the situation for the UN body, which met last week in Nairobi.

The issue as to whether Basildon can destroy Dale Farm, located in a greenbelt zone and lacking planning consent, without alternative accommodation being provided for the 90 families, is to be decided in the Court of Appeal on 5 December.--

While this plan is not nice indeed, to say the least, those are not, however, Gypsy children. They may be Traveller children, as in Irish Traveller, but NOT Gypsy. Dosta. It is time we got away from this calling them Gypsy... They are not Gypsy, as Gypsy should apply to Romani only - at least according to the old original dictionaries.

Sad though this situation is and regardless of whether the families are Gypsy or Irish Travellers, the law is you cannot develop a site without planning permission. They presumably did it knowing the risks. I cannot put a caravan in my front garden and have myself or visitors stay in it without permission. I do not agree with the council's tactics, which could cause great distress to the children, but the law is the law.

I am not a Gypsy or Traveller and if I were to buy a piece of land and build without permission, eventually the bulldozers would move in and people would say I was the fool. Here, a children's wooden tree house was forcibly demolished by the council.

I can but agree with you there Angela B. and it is a sad fact that many of the Travelling community, whether of my People, the Romani, or the Irish, etc., have an attitude that they can move onto a piece of land and can develop it and then, as an afterthought, when forced to do so, go for planning consent which, invariably, is going to be turned down. They then come running to organizations such as the Gypsy Union, the Gypsy Councils and such, asking for hep to fight the expulsions, etc.

As you say, the law is the law... and that is something that I have tried to get into the People so often, via talks as well as via articles, Still, however, especially aided and abetted by politicos such as the ones playing around there at Dale Farm, the people think that they can do this and that they should have a right to do so.

The truth is that, should anyone from the governments even go as far as suggesting that Gypsies should have the right to be able to set something up without need for consent then I can see the resentment from the non-Gypsy and non-Traveller population against us getting bigger still.

Again, my 2cents...

In response to the 3 posts above.

Firstly in regard to the comment “The law is the law”, I absolutely agree, but the point that is being missed here is that “the law” is not even handed. If Joe average applies for planning permission then provided his building meets building standards and provided that there are no “valid” objections to his project, planning permission will be granted. I have emphasised the word “valid” for good reason. Neighbours or prospective neighbours cannot object simply because they do not want Joe average living alongside them.
Sadly though in the case of Gypsy and Traveller applications refusal is made not on the grounds of what is being built, but on the grounds of who is going to reside there. It’s called racism, and this sort of bigotry would not be tolerated if it were directed at any other minority group.
Angela, I take on board your simile with the tree house, bureaucracy gone mad for sure. But lets put this into perspective. A tree house, albeit very nice, is a luxury I personally cannot see why any council would take the view that you describe. And I’m sure it was very upsetting for the children whose tree house it was. But I’m not talking of children losing a luxury. The issue here is children having their actual homes bulldozed, and their lives plunged into turmoil.

If Joe average built a tree house or any other construction without planning permission, would his children be taken away until he agreed to leave the County? Of course this would not happen, nobody would dare even think of such a thing. Yet it is a very real consideration and threat for the children who call Dale Farm “home”

Yeshengro/Michael, I am appalled at your comment, I realise that in some circles there is some friction between the various travelling peoples. It is not an argument I intend to get dragged into, nor is it an area I wish to encourage.

I give not a tuppenny ..you know what, about the dynamics. We are talking about human beings - families and children who have a right to stability and a home. To say “these are not Gypsy children” is frankly shameful, what should we do then Michael? Ignore the situation? Throw them to the wolves? Do they matter less than Romani children?. You an I once spent a Sunday afternoon talking about racism, and the holocaust..and now you can post a comment like that.

The fact is that like it or not there are Irish travellers who have done much in the way of campaigning that has brought about improvements to “the Gypsy” people. OH yes there are problems, but comments like yours fan the flames, and to be fair and honest there is good and bad in ALL communities.

The Romani and the Irish Travellers face the same problems, the same prejudices and the same problems in living as we would like to live, and to do so in peace, and in harmony with the settled community.
Romani or Irish we share a common bond, and instead of “in fighting” we should be pulling together

Michael you told me you had a military background. It is a well known fact that the best way to defeat an army is to split its defences. We may well be more than one “race”, but we are. Or should be fighting on the same side.

Rightly or wrongly in the eyes of Joe average the Irish travellers and the Romani are all under the umbrella of “Gypsies”, and so long as we all bump along together what’s the problem? What we should all be aiming to do is to work together to promote a positive image and to retain our individual ethnic identities and cultures. This hostility must stop as Pastor Martin Niemöller famously quoted;

"First they came for the Socialists, and I did not speak out because I was not a Socialist.
Then they came for the trade unionists, and I did not speak out because I was not a trade unionist.
Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out because I was not a Jew.
Then they came for me, and there was no one left to speak for me".

There but for the grace of God Michael …….(St Augustus)

@Thomas Price

Maybe, before jumping to conclusions about me/us taking money for ads on the Gypsy Union website please note that (1) we get not a penny for them and (2) we have no control of the ads on Tripod sites either.

However, neither can we pay for hosting. I rather use the money for the cause than paying a web sever. So, maybe, you talk to people next time before accusing people in the way you do.

Whether you have taken an Irish Traveller wife is not my concern... my concern is to educate people that Irish Travellers are not Gypsy, they are not, per se, Romani and hence we have nothing in common.

Sorry, Pesha, to use your blog in this way but...

Dosta penauas on this subject from my side here

I agree with Vashengro, i'm tired of Travellers calling themselves 'Romany' or Gypsy! My Nan used to call them 'Hedgemumpers' those of you that are 'Romany' will know the meaning lol. Unfortunately there are many ignorant people in this world that will tar us all with the same brush.
This leak to take the children into care maybe a ploy to get them off the site, if they have no sound reason to remove these children it should not be allowed.
Everyone should abide by the planning laws no matter who they are!
